Comfort
- HVAC Inspection. heater, defrost, seat warmers, steering wheel warmer. Keeping these systems in good shape will ensure your car can get warmed up every time you drive. Staying comfortable driving helps you focus more on driving.
- Check/Replace Engine Coolant & Antifreeze. The engine coolant and antifreeze also affect your heating, but more importantly, keeps your engine comfortable. Your battery has to work extra hard to start in cold weather, and having good antifreeze helps with that effort.
Safety
- Windshield Crack & Chip Inspection. Ensuring your windows are in good shape will prevent cracks from spreading, which happens more in cold weather.
- Wiper Blade Inspection. Wiper blades are given a hard workout when they have to scrape over ice and snow. They should be replaced as winter begins each year.
- Change Washer Fluid to Winter Blend. Washer fluid will help de-ice your windows if it has the wintertime blend.
A roadside safety kit is also recommended because no matter how good of condition your car is in, accidents can happen. You need things like a flashlight, batteries, blankets, and other items to help in an emergency.
