This month, Honda Manufacturing of Alabama announced that its assembly line is beginning to build the 2017 Honda Ridgeline. Tom Wood Honda is sure you remember the 2017 Honda Ridgeline making a TV commercial appearance during the 2016 Super Bowl.

Sales of trucks and sport utility vehicles are rapidly outpacing sales of all other vehicle types in the U.S. as consumers ditch four-door sedans. In fact, from 2013 to 2015, the U.S. market for midsize pickups grew 57 percent.

Originally introduced in 2005, the Honda Ridgeline was initially popular, appealing to buyers looking for a smaller pickup. The original Honda Ridgeline model did not look like a traditional American pickup, but instead a cross between a pickup, a passenger car, and an SUV.

For the first time, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline will be available with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive. Honda is promoting the 2017 Honda Ridgeline as the "ultimate tailgater," with features that include an audio system with speakers built into the truck bed and the availability to hook up a flat-screen TV.

The Honda Ridgeline model's signature in-bed trunk remains, while the bed itself has grown wider and longer. That leaves a four-foot wide flat bed space for greater hauling capacity. The brand claims the 2017 Honda Ridgeline will outpace traditional mid-size trucks in both towing capacity and cargo hauling.

Honda is hoping to capitalize on the lucrative truck market with the 2017 Honda Ridgeline. If you are interested in this capable truck or have any questions, please contact a Honda dealer today!
